About Ebyeloof
Ebyeloof is galaxy 45 of 256 in No Man's Sky, a normal galaxy. The standard odds. The game calls them Imperfect, Improved, Parallel or Rebuilt galaxies, under a cyan hologram. Most of the 256 are normal.
Travellers arrive here from the centre of Wucetosucc. From the centre of Ebyeloof, the road goes on to Odyavanta.
This atlas holds 357 charted regions and 9 star systems of Ebyeloof, each with its portal address.
The galaxy that lost a syllable
Ebyeloof did not always have this name. It used to be called Ebyeloofdud, until a change to the game shortened it to the name you see today. Only the first five galaxies received names chosen by the developers, Euclid to Hyades; every other name comes straight from the game's name generator, and never moves. Ebyeloof is the only one of them known to have changed since: an oddity in an otherwise fixed list.
Nobody outside Hello Games knows why. English speakers will only note that a dud is something that fails to go off.
What is left sounds Dutch. In Dutch, loof is the foliage of a tree, and geloof is faith.
