An Italian family name
Davanossi ends like an Italian surname. The ending -ossi is the one of Rossi, the most common family name in Italy (Italia), and of Grossi or Bossi. Put a Da in front, "from", as in Leonardo da Vinci, and Davanossi reads like the name of a family from a small town.
