Generate your Tessera for the Mosaic

Your save, as a Story

Give it one save file and it gives back the story of your journey :)

🔒Your save is read right here, inside your browser. It never leaves your device and is never uploaded. Everything happens locally.🔒

All along, your choices and your privacy are respected. You decide what to share and what to leave out. It stays in your hands.

A story generated here is anonymous by nature: no personal data is kept in it.

1Choose your save

One file, one character: the save of whoever you want the story of. Look for a file named like save2.hg.

Drag your save file here

Nothing chosen yet

Finding your save
Press Win+R, paste %APPDATA%\HelloGames\NMS, and hit Enter. Windows opens the right folder for you.
On Mac, the saves live under ~/Library/Application Support/HelloGames/NMS/.

Inside there's one folder with an odd name, that's yours, open it.

Pick the save.hg (with or without number) file for the character slot you want. If you grab accountdata.hg or one of the mf_ files by mistake, don't worry, those aren't saves and we'll tell you.

What happens to your save

Your save is opened and read right here in your browser. It is never uploaded, not to me and not to anyone else: no copy of it exists anywhere but on your own device, and closing this tab is the end of it.

What happens only if you tick the share map and mosaic box yourself :
- Sharing your travels sends coordinates, and nothing but coordinates, to the shared map. And it's only a fraction of the coordinates present in your save file.
- Allowing the gallery lets your story appear there.
Both are off until you turn them on, and each button says plainly what it is about to do before you press it.

The story itself carries no one's name. Other players become nobody, you become "you", and anything you named in game is yours to keep, change, or drop beforehand. Nothing is kept on our side: your story lives entirely inside the code you leave with.

None of this counts for much as a promise, so I made it checkable instead. The code that reads your save is published for anyone to audit at :
