Report a story
Stories are not listed anywhere and cannot be searched, so a story only exists for us when someone opens it. If you found one that should not be here, this is how we find out. A person reads every report.
1The story
The whole link, the short one, or just the code itself: any of them work. If you came here from a story, it is already filled in.
What happens, exactly
- The story keeps rendering until a human has looked. Nothing is taken down automatically: a report is not a verdict, and letting it act alone would hand anyone a takedown button for someone else's work.
- We keep a copy of the story so it can be read and judged. Judging a hash is not possible.
- We do not record who reported it, or from where. There is nothing to gain by knowing, and a mistaken report costs you nothing.
- Several reports on the same story are counted together, and that count is what moves it to the top of the pile.
If the story is yours and you want it gone, you do not need us at all: the seal on your receipt takes it down at once, from the takedown page.
