A white spring

Aktau

Akbulkabi begins like the place names of the steppe. In the Turkic languages, ak is white and bulak a spring: Akbulak (Акбулак), the white spring, is a real town of Russia (Россия) near the Kazakh border. Ak alone comes back across Central Asia, in Aktau (Ақтау), the white mountain, or Akmola (Ақмола), the old name of Astana (Астана).

A white spring at the start: fresh water for the road.
