The women's war
Nupiacheh opens on nupi, woman in Meitei, the language of Manipur, in north-east India (भारत). The Nupi Lan, the women's war, saw thousands of women march against British rule in 1904, and again in 1939, against the export of rice in a time of shortage. 12 December is still Nupi Lan Day in Manipur.
Remember the women.
